Start with customer intent
Google Ads and Meta Ads solve different problems. Search campaigns are often useful when customers know what they need and actively look for it. Meta campaigns can introduce your offer to people who have not begun searching yet. Neither platform is automatically better for every business.
When Google Ads is a strong fit
If customers search for phrases that indicate a need—such as a local service, product category or urgent solution—Google Search can connect your offer with that demand. Success still depends on search terms, landing-page relevance, budget and follow-up processes.
When Meta Ads is a strong fit
Facebook and Instagram campaigns can be valuable when your offer benefits from visual storytelling, education or audience discovery. Strong creative, relevant messaging and suitable targeting matter. A good Meta campaign often needs multiple creative tests before patterns become clear.
Budget, measurement and lead quality
Compare more than clicks. Review the cost per qualified lead, enquiry quality, close rates, and conversion tracking where possible. If your business has limited conversion data, begin with a focused test and avoid spreading the budget too thin across platforms.
A practical way to decide
Ask three questions: Are customers already searching for my solution? Does the offer need demonstration or explanation? Can my team respond quickly to enquiries? The answers help determine which channel to prioritize and whether the two should work together.
